Leona Fanin

Leona Hicks Culbertson Fanin, age 87 of 203 Braxton Drive, Bluefield, WV, died on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at her residence. Born on October 19, 1926 in Jolo, WV, she was a daughter of the late James R. and Polly Jane Grose Hicks. She had lived in Bluefield for the past 5 years and was of the Holiness faith. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Fanin; and the children’s father, Joe Culbertson; sons, Paul and David Culbertson; and two daughters, Daisy May Culbertson and Elizabeth Hatter. Survivors include: 2 sons:  Thomas Ray Culbertson of Maybeury                 Billy Joel Culbertson of Maybeury 3 daughters:       Mary Hill of Tazewell, VA                                 Rosa Clyburn of Bluefield, WV                                 Judy Stevenson of Bramwell, WV 20 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren Sister:   Virginia Rowe of Maybeury Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Deliverance Temple in Brushfork with Rev. Martin Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the church.
