Lydia Christine Whittimore

March 20, 1948 — April 1, 2014

Lydia Christine Tooley Whittimore, 66 of Rocky Gap, VA formally of McComas, WV, passed away in her sleep on April 1, 2014. Chris had a love of helping take care of others. She loved to crochet and cross stitch. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Chris worked at the Holiday Inn in Bluefield and Retired from St. Luke’s. She was preceded in death by her father, James Tooley and Mother, Hazel Thompson Tooley, Sister Judy Kilby of Chicago, IL and Doris Ann (Dot) Stobbard from CA, infant sister Jacklene Tooley and infant brother Curtis Tooley and step-son Michael Whittimore.   Left to cherish wonderful memories are her husband of 29 years, David Whittimore of Rocky Gap, VA. Her daughter Stacey Bailey- Syres and husband Anthony Syres of Rock, WV. Step-son Alan Whittimore and wife Judy of Johnson City, TN. Grand-daughters Alexandria Jade Hubbard of Rock, WV, Kellie Noel Dobbins and husband Andrew of Bluewell, WV. Lori Whittimore and children Mary and Alex of Christiansburg VA. Two Great Grand-daughters, Karleigh Brooke and Emily Hope Dobbins. Sisters, Vickie Kennett and husband Mike (Mickey) of McComas, WV, Hazel Browning and husband Johnny of McComas, WV, Brenda Ryles of Salem, VA and Darlene Tooley of Brushfork, WV. Brothers, Johnny Tooley of McComas, WV, Freddy Tooley of Princeton, WV and Jimmy Tooley and wife Sue of Salem, VA. Numerous Nieces and Nephews and special friends Rose Smothers, Tracy and Steve Smith and Family and Debbie Hurt.   Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 04, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), WV with Rev. Michael Davis officiating the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV where James Kennett, Brian Syres, Anthony Syres, Alan Whittimore, Andrew Dobbins and Steve Smith serving as pallbearers.   The family will be receiving friends on Friday, April; 04, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.   In lieu of Flower the family request that memorial donation be made to the American Heart Association PO Box 15120 Chicago, IL 60693
