Clinton "Monk" Gaither

Clinton “Monk” Gaither, 76, of New Hope Road, Bluefield, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at his home. Born on July 1, 1937 in McComas, he was a son of the late James R. and Violet Crawford Gaither. He had been a resident of Princeton for the past 63 years and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He worked for Fairmont Supply in Bluefield for 35 years and retired as a warehouse manager. He was a member of the Bailey Masonic Lodge #137 where he served as Past Master of the Lodge. Monk was an avid fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary L. Wall Gaither, who passed away just six weeks ago and two brothers, Jack and Ronnie Gaither. Survivors include: 2 Brothers:          Russell W. “Rusty” Gaither and wife Sue of Bluefield                                 Terry Gaither and wife Sharon of Green Pond, AL Several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Greg Kinzer officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Princeton where the Bailey Masonic Lodge #137 will conduct final rites and serve as pallbearers. David Honaker and David Wall will serve as honorary pallbearers. Friends may call on Tuesday one hour prior to services, from 12:00 to 1:00 at the funeral home.
