Mr. Willard B. (Bill) Hill, age 98, of Rt 4 Bluefield, WV passed away on Wednesday March 19th 2014 at a local hospital. Bill was the widower of Willie B Hill and the son of the late John Robert & Sadie Belle Broyles Hill. He was preceded in death by two sisters Mrs. Dorothy Clements, Mrs. Helen Stanley and six brothers Howard, Horace, Albert, John, Herbert and Sam Hill. He was born in Keystone WV Feburary 14, 1916.
Bill was retired foreman from Coppinger Machinery Company with over 33 years service. Bill was considered to be a craftsman machinist.
He was a life long member, Elder and Deacon at Midway Christian Church and had a passion to visit the sick and others to encourage them to attend church. He also taught Sunday School in the Adult Educational program.
Bills hobby was cutting grass and he prided himself in a good looking yard. He loved his family and particularly enjoyed people coming to see him. He was a friendly man always waving to passers by especially school children.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs Emma Peraldo and Husband Roger of Charlottesville VA, one son, W. Kenneth Hill and wife Betty of Pinehurst NC. One sister, Mrs. Mildred Hamilton of San Antonio TX. 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday March 21st from 6PM to 8PM at Midway Christian Church located on Route 460 beside the television station
A celebration for the life of Bill will be held at 11AM Saturday, March 22nd at the church. Mr. Dan Webb officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Old Princeton Road.
