Lester Shrader, 85, of Moonlight Lane, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014 at his residence. Born on October 2, 1928 in Montcalm, he was a son of the late Henry and Lura Martin Shrader. He had been a resident of Bluewell for all of his life and was retired from Bluefield Supply and Rish Equipment, having worked for 52 years. He was a former member of the Moose and an avid bowler at Mountaineer Bowling Lanes. He was a member of the Bluewell United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Shrader and 2 grandchildren, Hannah and Faith Shrader; 4 brothers, Larmer, Buck, Henry, and John; and 5 sisters, Betty, Marie, Elvira, Effie, and Virgie. He was the last surviving member of his family. Survivors include: Loving wife: Lovonia (Bonnie) Blizzard Shrader of the home 2 sons: Lester Paul Shrader and Regina of Bluewell Mark Shrader and wife Stephanie of Princeton Daughter: Kathy Lambert and husband Tony of Bluefield 2 stepsons: Rick Lockhart and wife Maureen of Bluefield Randy Lockhart of Bluefield, VA 7 grandchildren: Kelly, Laken, Stacy, Ashley, Bo, Jonah and Jonathan 3 great grandchildren Logan, Jaxon and Kristian Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Bluewell United Methodist Church in Bluewell with Rev. Steve Rector and Rev. D. Homer Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home and at the church on Monday an hour prior to services.
