Joyce Parker

Princeton- Joyce Eileen Dooley Parker, 56 of Wedgewood Ave., Princeton, WV, passed away Friday January 31, 2014 at the Chandler Medical Center of the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, due to multiple health problems. Born on December 28, 1957 in Bluefield, she was a daughter of Ilene Harry Dooley of Princeton and the late Rev. C. G. Dooley. Joyce was a member of TOPS Chapter 0216 of Princeton, a graduate of Princeton High School and received a degree from Bluefield State College. Joyce worked the last eight years of her life as an Office Manager at the local Holiday Inn Express and Days Inn Hotel where she truly enjoyed her co-workers. Joyce’s mom and sister always called her “Joy” and it was a perfect nickname for such a wonderful person who brought so much joy to the ones she touched. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter; Heather Frazier. She is survived by her husband; Bruce Parker of the home; a son, Jonathan Frazier of Princeton; her mother, Ilene Dooley of Princeton; a brother, Richard Dooley and wife Kathryn of Princeton; a sister, Sharon Preston of Princeton; a niece Lynsey Artrip of Princeton; and a nephew Rodney Preston. Memorial services for Joyce will be held Monday February 3, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. David Neal officiating.
