Alma Rose Underwood

Alma Rose Crotshin Underwood 96 of Augusta St. Bluefield, WV passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Mary Ellen’s Elder Care in Princeton, WV. She was born on September 18, 1917 in Ballard, WV to the late Ernest Benton Crotshin and Phyllis E. Robertson Crotshin. She was a graduate of Bluefield High School and was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of Ruby Jane Southern Circle FBC. She had been a resident of Bluefield, WV for 83 years. Alma was a former employee of the Granda Theater, St. Luke’s Medical Group and worked for Dr. Anthony Rasi till she was 85. In addition to his parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Hoge Underwood and her sister Virginia Crotshin Shumaker. Survivors include: Two Sons: Thomas Crotshin Underwood and wife Norma of Dallas, TX Samuel E. underwood and wife Denise of Bluefield, WV Five Grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren Special Caregivers: Mary Heath, Rebecca Thomas, Karen Jones and Compassus Hospice Cryptside rites will be held on Saturday, February 01, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Roselawn Mausoleum in Princeton, WV with Minister Ed Fisher officiating. Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Roselawn Mausoleum in Princeton, WV by 12:45 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV.
