Opal Taylor Case

BLAND - Opal Taylor Case peacefully moved to another life with her lord and savior January 28, 2014 at the age of 84. She was born May 7, 1929 in Montcalm, WV and spent most of her life in the area. She was one of 9 siblings born to the late Martha Scott & Oliver Taylor. She was a sweet, patient, and giving person who brought cheer and love to all who knew her. Opal and husband are members of Fellowship Baptist Church in Wytheville, VA. Opal was preceded in death by parents Martha and Oliver Taylor, her daughter Connie Marea Hicks, Three brothers: Edward, Roscoe, and Nelson Taylor, three sisters Nora Walker, Kathleen Poff, and Janice Tolbert. Those left to cherish her loving memory are: loving husband Cecil Gale Case, mother-in-law Ida May Terry, one daughter; Debbie Miller and husband Geff of Mooresville, NC, one son Gregory C. Short and companion Donna Blake, her children Sarah and Chace of Roanoke, Va., three grandchildren: G. Bryan Miller III of Charlotte NC., Derek and Logan Short of Roanoke, Va., three step sons: Tommy and wife Regina, children: Tammy and Mathew all of Lynchburg Va., Todd Case of Lynchburg Va., children: Ben of Fairlawn Va., Elise and Jessica of Radford, Va., Wes and family of Colorado, Sister Lucile Riddle of Bluewell WV and Harold Taylor of Delaware, sister-in-law Alice Taylor of Delaware, brother-in-law Wilson Poff of Indiana, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Andrew Davis and Rev. Larry Burgett officiating the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV where Dick Downs, Jimmy Bryant, Rick Bryant, Brent Poff, Mitchell Sylvester, Keith Allen and JR Mahone will be serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV.
