Vernon Lee Hylton, 83, of City View Heights, Princeton, WV, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at his home.
Born on March 29, 1930 in Havaco, he was a son of the late Arthur and Maggie Vernon Hylton. He was a retired coal miner from Eastern Associated Coal Company in Keystone with 21 years of service and was a member of the UMWA. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brian Hylton; a brother; Leonard; and two sisters, Frances Cantor and Dorothy Garbo.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Joe Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell with Steven Nichols, JB Hylton, DJ Persiani, David Beck, Eddie Hodges, and Doug Baker serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
