William H. Howington

William H. “Squeek” Howington, 67, of Skygusty, went to be with the Lord Friday, January 3, 2014 suddenly in his home. Born on October 29, 1946 in Freeman, he was a son of the late Woodrow and Katherine Gilley Howington. He worked at US Steel No. 14 and Shawnee. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Abbs Valley, VA. He loved playing music in church with family and friends and also enjoyed time on the golf course with special friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Michael and Martin Woody Howington. Survivors include: Wife: Wanda Marrs Howington of the home Daughter: Kathy Howington Parnell and husband Eddie of Tazewell, VA Sons: Michael “Zero” Howington and wife Lori of Brushfork Rodney “QT” Howington of the home Grandchildren: Cody Parnell, Amber Howington, Brandi Howington and Shane Howington Brothers: Earl Howington and wife Bonnie of Richmond, VA Charles Howington and wife Freda of Abbs Valley, VA Sister in law: Judy Howington of Richmond, VA Sisters: Angie Lewis and husband Chester of Crossville, TN Carolyn Farmer and husband Raymond of Pageton, WV Several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastor Dennis Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, VA where family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Monday from 12:30-2:00 at the funeral home.
