Bluefield - The Lord came and took our beloved wife, mother and sister, Joyce Gay Phelps, on December 28, 2013 at her residence. Her long and beautiful journey is over. She was born on February 08, 1961 in Bluefield, WV to the late Steve and Edna Tessa. She was a lifelong resident of Bluefield, WV and was of the Baptist faith. She loved spending time with her grandchildren who were the light of her eye. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Francis May Tessa. She was the wife of Husband: Danny Phelps of the Home She was the mother of Sons: Danny Phelps, Jr. and wife Melissa of Brushfork, WV Christopher Phelps of the home She was a loving grandmother to Hannah, Nathan, Nicholas and Hunter Phelps Survivors also include: Bothers: Jr. Tessa of Bluefield, West Virginia Joe Tessa and wife Joann of Tennessee Bill Tessa and wife Teresa of Bluefield, West Virginia Michael Tessa and wife Minnie of Bluefield, West Virginia Dale Tessa and Debbie of Bluefield, West Virginia David Tessa and wife Lisa of Maybury, West Virginia Sister: Drema Tessa of Bluefield, West Virginia Karen and husband David Thompson of Bluefield, West Virginia Cindy and husband Jerry Ritchie of Bluefield, West Virginia Sherri and husband Mike Blankenship of Bluefield, West Virginia Teresa and Rocky Dillon of Bluefield, West Virginia Daughter in Law and friend: Krystal Phelps of Princeton, WV And a host of nieces and nephews Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 02, 2014 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. where Rev. David Kirby will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, West Virginia where brothers and nephews will be serving as pallbearers.
