Violet Spicer

September 11, 1925 — December 23, 2013

Violet B. Spicer, 88, of the Cassell's Board and Care in Princeton WV went to be with her Lord and Savior on December, 23, 2013. She was formerly of McComas and Windmill Gap. Born on September 11, 1925 in Windmill Gap, she was the daughter of the late William James Beggs and Sebina V. Walker Beggs. She had been a lifelong resident of McComas and Windmill Gap and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Crane Creek Holiness Church. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Tracy Spicer, nine brothers - Ben, Charlie, Willie, Eugene, Francis, Vernie, Garland, Lewis and Everett Beggs; five sisters - Eileen Anders, Katherine Eanes, Vacy Stanley, Virginia East and Versie Riley. Survivors include one sister, Lorene Grose and husband Bobby of Windmill Gap and a special niece, Wanda Doss and husband Jerry, also of Windmill Gap, who were her care givers. Other survivors include Barbara Beggs of Princeton and Lillian Beggs of Windmill Gap; and special caregivers, the staff of Cassell’s Board and Care and Amedisys Hospice. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Larry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at the Beggs Family Cemetery at Windmill Gap. Randy Beggs, Mark Beggs, Jerry Doss, Frankie Grose and Lyle Beggs will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
