John Wayne Murray, Sr. 59 of Virginia Ave. Bluefield, Virginia passed away on Monday, December 09, 2013 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, WV. John was born on June 08, 1954 in Richlands, VA to the late John Ealy Jackson Murray and Elizabeth Ann Britt McGuire Murray. John had been a resident of Bluefield, VA for most of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from Bluefield Virginia Police Department and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He served our country in the US Army In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by John “Johnnie” Murray, Sue Shinault, Thomas Murray, Robert Murray, Wanda Hodges, Hampton, Glenn Left to cherish his memory: Wife: Donna Smith Murray of the Home Son: John Murray, Jr. of Bluefield, WV Daughters: Christie Murray Law and husband Larry of Bluefield, WV Anna Marie Horne of Bluefield, Virginia Brothers: Ralph Murray of Abbs Valley, Virginia Melvin Murray of Oregon Sisters: Ruth Gearheart of Bluefield, VA Reda Rose and husband Bobby of Bluefield, VA Zanda Pennington of Troy, VA Louise Post of Roanoke, VA Cindy Pauley of Tazewell, VA Helen Pruitt and husband Harold of Bluefield, WV Billie Jean Sturges of Bluefield, VA Half Sister: Helen Proffitt of Wisconsin Grandchildren: Joshua Law, Sarah Law, Ethan Smith, Cayden Murray, Cheyanne Horne Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 11:00a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Rev. George Stamper officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, Va. Where the Bluefield VA Police Dept will serve as pallbearers.
