Bartie Sutphin Lemons 78 of Brierwood Lane Bluefield, West Virginia passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, West Virginia. Bartie was born on May 19, 1935 in Virginia to the late Richard Columbus Sutphin and Goldie Dalton Sutphin. She has been a resident of Bluefield, West Virginia for the past 58 years and was a member of Edgemont Baptist Church in Bluefield, West Virginia. Bartie was employed for the past 30 years at Blaydes Optical working for both Dr. Blaydes, Sr. and Dr. Blaydes, Jr. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters Survivors Include: Her husband of 58 years Russell D. Lemons of the home One Brother: Marvin Richard Sutphin of Christiansburg, Virginia Three Nieces and Five nephews Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Rev. Hugh Cole officiating the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia. Where friends and family will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Edgemont Baptist Church 2507 Jefferson Drive Bluefield, WV. 24701 The family will receive friends on Friday morning, November 29, 2013 one hour prior to the service.
