Bluefield- Charles Robert Venable, 66, of 292 Fairlawn Rd., Bluefield, WV, went to be with his Lord on Saturday November 9, 2013 at his home.
Born September 18, 1947 in Welch, WV; he was a son of the late Robert Venable, Jr. and the late Doris Burton Venable. Mr. Venable was an active member of East End Baptist Church where he was also serving as a Deacon. He was retired from Mason-Dixon Distribution Company. Charles was also a member of the National Railway Historical Society, the Mercer County Tourist Train Authority and was very much involved in the Train Show in Bluefield for the past twenty-five years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister; Sharon Venable.
Survivors include his wife; Brenda Sadler Venable of the home, a daughter; Charli Nolan and husband Daniel of Lake Monticello, VA, a brother; Jeff Venable and wife Brenda of Princeton, WV, a sister; Deborah Cline and husband Howard of Myrtle Beach, SC, and a granddaughter; who was “the light of his life”, Kylie Nolan.
Funeral services for Mr. Venable will be conducted Tuesday November 12, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Rev. Chad Lambert officiating. Friends may call Tuesday November 12, 2013 from 6PM - 8PM.
Graveside services and burial will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery located in Bluewell on Wednesday November 13, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 AM.
