Howard "Dink" L. Shrader

Howard L. “Dink” Shrader, age 56, of Bluewell, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born on July 8, 1957 in Bluefield and was the son of Howard G. “Poppa Dink” and the late Betty Curry Shrader of Bluewell. Dink graduated Bluefield High School in 1975 and worked at Cole International for 19 years prior to founding his own business, Dink’s Inc., in Bluewell which he operated for 20 years. He was an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast and also loved collecting guns, fishing, going to flea markets, shooting matches, and racing go-carts. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, and sister, Tammy Manuel. He is survived by his bride of 29 years, Susie, his daughter, Sarah, who is attending WVU, and his beloved dog Harley all of the home; his father, Poppa Dink of Bluewell; one brother, Mike Shrader, and his bride, Susan, of Bluefield; one sister, Lori Mills, and her husband, Jeff, of Bluefield; one niece, Ashley Manuel, of Gaithersburg, Maryland; and one nephew, Jake Mills, of Bluefield; two special young men who were like sons to him, Dalton and Colton Egnor. Memorial services will be held at 11AM Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Reverend Steve Rector officiating, assisted by Brenda Ash. Burial will follow at the Hale family cemetery in Bluewell. Mike Barton, Mike Dotson, Mike Egnor, Dalton Egnor, Colton Egnor, Luke Gleaves, Ricky Hunter, Mike Lewis, Steve Lewis, Jamie Umberger, and Kenny Young will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are JR Boothe, Stanley Hodges, and Carl Hubbard. Friends may call at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home on Friday November 8, 2013 between the hours of 6-9PM.
