Peggy Martin Belcher

Peggy Martin Belcher, 80, of Bluefield, WV, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born on April 16, 1933 in Richlands, VA, she was a daughter of the late Glen and Cornelia Hall Martin. She had been a resident of the Bluefield area for most of her life and was a retired school teacher for Mercer County Schools. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter (Bundy) Belcher, 2 brothers, Ronnie and Jack Martin; and a sister, Glenna Poe. She was the last surviving member of her family. Survivors include: Nieces and Nephews: R.M. (Mike) Poe and wife Patty of Bluefield; Charles N. Poe and wife Linda of Athens; Kathy S. Poe of Princeton; Sharon R. Poe of Bluefield; Karen K. Poe of Princeton; Ronnie Martin and wife Sara of Richlands, VA; Becky Meadows and husband Eli of Camp Creek; and Jackie Williams and husband David of Bluefield, VA. Sisters in law: Sandra Martin of Princeton; Mary Cecil Martin of Bluefield Memorial services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 6:00PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Susan Rector officiating. Friends may call prior to services on Tuesday, from 4 to 6 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercer County Bible in the Schools, PO Box 543, Bluefield, WV 24701 with a designation to Bluefield Middle School.
