Edith Virginia Creasy

Edith Virginia Creasy 91 of Abbs Valley, Virginia passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 26, 1922 in Jenkinjones, West Virginia to the late James Richard Sayers and Lilly Jane Hess Sayers. Edith was a member of the Abbs Valley Baptist Church. She was the owner of Creasy’s Supermarket from the late 1950’s to the end of the 1980. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harding Lee Creasy, Two sons, Donnie Lee Creasy and James Harding Creasy, One sister Lucy Beavers and One Brother Carl Sayers. She is survived by: One Bother: Earl Sayers of Grapefield, Virginia Three Sons: Glen Elwood Creasy and wife Barbara of Abbs Valley, Virginia Douglas Ray Creasy and wife Marilyn of North Tazewell, Virginia Herbert Eugene Creasy and wife Debbie of Abbs Valley, Virginia Two Daughters: Cynthia “Sissy” Robert and husband Garland “John R.” of Abbs Valley, VA Linda Sue Lares and husband Alfredo E. of Roanoke, Virginia She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Special friends and caregivers Fern Bell, Wanda Epperson, Dorothy Bolen and Kimberly Dawson Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, West Virginia with Rev. Kenny Gillespie, Rev. Gordon McBride and Rev. Darrel Hunley officiating the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Bluewell, West Virginia. Serving as pallbearers will grandsons. In lieu of flowers contribution of remembrance may be made to Abbs Valley Baptist Church 125 Lee Street.
