Earnest Earl “Erie” Shoemaker, age 86, of 877 Camellia Drive, Bluewell, WV went to be with The LORD and his loving wife on Saturday, October 19, 2013, a day that he would call “a beautiful, beautiful day.”
Born on February 21, 1927, he was the son of the late James and Beulah Hodges Shoemaker. He was a coal miner having retired from Consol Coal Company with 36 years at Sagamore and Crane Creek Mines. He also loved serving GOD. He was a member of the Crossroads Church and attended the Voice of Praise Worship Center in Bluewell, WV. He was a “good man”. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Shoemaker; 3 brothers, George, Harold and Darrell; and 4 sisters, Ozella Williams, Dorothy Thorton, Priscilla Shoemaker and Melvina Comer.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastors Preston Mathena and Jason Queen officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where his family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
