Lillian Beckner Thompson

Lillian Beckner Thompson, age 83, of Salisbury, NC, formerly of Bluefield, WV, died on Monday, October 14, 2013 at the Kiser Hospice in Salisbury. Born on March 20, 1930, on Browning Lambert Mountain, she was a daughter of the late John Boyd and Cora Perkins Beckner. She had worked as a receptionist for the Princeton Senior Center and attended the House of Prayer Church at Skating Rink Hollow. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Bug” Thompson, Jr.; 5 brothers; and 2 sisters. Survivors include: Daughter: Carol Amos and husband Robert of Salisbury, NC Sons: Clinton Thompson of Rockwell, NC Chris Thompson of Alabaster, AL Sisters: Ruby Davidson of Green Cove Springs, FL Shirley Harmon of Princeton, WV Sister-in-Law: Shirley Beckner Grandchildren: Robby Amos, Cynthia Amos, Joseph Amos and Craig Thompson Great-Grandchildren: Garret, Moses, Gracie Moses, Hunter Amos, Courtney Amos, Nathan Amos and Noah Amos Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 12:30 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Sherman Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where her family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
