Grover Cleveland Coffee (Coffey), 83, of Bland Street, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2013 at the Maples Nursing Home in Bluefield. He was known as “Bunny” to close friends and family.
Born on April 23, 1930 in McDowell County, WV, he was a son of the late Ruby Mae Orr. He was a veteran of the US Navy. He had a special interest in the Nouveau Tech Secret Society. He was also the longest resident of the Kennedy Center Apartment Building where he enjoyed his neighbors and building staff.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Coffee; and a special aunt, Bertha Hairston.
He is survived by two sons: Anthony Gunn, Sr. and Marvin Coffee of Los Angeles, CA
Also left to cherish his memories are his special family, LaDonne Bowles Hightower and Brennon Hightower of Danville, IL; Miles R. Palmer, Sr. and Miles R. Palmer, Jr. of Bluefield; Marsha Hairston and LaMont Hairston of Bluefield; and a host of friends and family.
Military honors and burial will be conducted on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 3:30 Pm at the Southwest Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery in Dublin, VA.
Friends may visit on Monday from 1:00-1:30 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell.
