Janet Marie Powers

Janet Marie Powers, 74, of 181 Harvey Avenue, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born on March 4, 1939 in Montcalm, she was a daughter of the late Clinton E. and Louise Robertson Clyburn. She had been a resident of Bluewell for 44 years and had been a member of Pine Grove Church of Christ for 59 years. She was a graduate of McComas High School and was retired from Mercer County Board of Education where she worked as a teacher’s aide. Survivors include: Husband: Darrell Douglas Powers of the home Sons: Darrell Dwayne Powers and wife Tina of Princeton Douglas Wayne Powers and wife Lisa of Princeton Daughter: Sherry Marie Powers of the home Granddaughter: Kaitlyn Marie Powers of Princeton Brother: Clinton E. Clyburn, Jr. of Clairmont, NC Sister: Naomi Raines and husband Fred of Princeton Several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Minister Gary Lamie officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell with Wayne McKinney, Jimmy Belcher, Eugene McKinney, Kent Jenkins, Jack Johnson, Bill Lineberry and Roger Lilly serving as pallbearers.
