Princeton - Elizabeth Belle George Belcher, 86, of Princeton, formerly of Belcher Mountain, died
Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at her home following a long illness.
Born November 24, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Edith Horne George.
Mrs. Belcher was a homemaker and was a member of the Little Vine Regular Baptist Church. She was a
loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved being surrounded by her family. She
was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin W. Belcher, Sr. and her brother, Homer George.
Survivors include one son, Calvin W. Belcher, Jr., and his wife Judy of Welch; four daughters, Patricia
Bishop and her husband, Denny of Belcher Mountain (Welch), Janette Koger and her husband, Ronald of
Princeton, Genieve Miles and her husband, Bill of Keystone, and Evelyn Green and her husband, Larry of
Keyrock (Pineville); seven grandchildren, Krista Harvey and her husband Jeff of Bridgeport, Keith Belcher
of Beckley, Jamie Press and her husband, Danny of Roanoke, VA., Michele Dunn and her husband,
Darrell of Keystone, Kevin Grubb and his wife, Lori of Bluefield, Heather Feeney Copen and her husband,
Mike of Meadow Bridge, and Jason Green of Beckley; seven great grandchildren, Ricky East and his wife,
Stacey of Bluefield, Alexis Harvey of Bridgeport, Jarred and Katie Grubb of Bluefield, Benjamin Feeney of
Meadow Bridge, and Valarie, Madison and Noah Press of Roanoke, Va.
Services will be at 1:00p.m., Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the Elkhorn Regular Baptist Church, Belcher
Mountain, with Pastor Gene Pennington, Elder Bryce Phillips, Pastor Ralph Steele and Denny Bishop,
officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service. Burial will follow in the Elkhorn Church
Cemetery, Belcher Mountain.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013, at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Keith Belcher, Kevin Grubb, Jason Green, Mike Copen, Jeffrey Harvey,
Danny Press, and Darrell Dunn and great grandson, Ricky East. Honorary pallbearers will be Benjamin
Feeney and Jarred Grubb.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elkhorn Church Cemetery, c/o Roger
Walker, P. O. Box 161, Roderfield, WV 24881.
