Donald Lee Perfin, 75, of Groveland Street, Bluefield, West Virginia, formerly of Elbert, West Virginia; passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center in Bluefield, West Virginia.
Donald was born on March 10, 1938 in Elbert, West Virginia to the late Frank S. Perfin and Mary Semonco Perfin. Donald had been a resident of Bluefield, West Virginia for the past seven years and was a graduate of Gary High School and Concord University where he received his degree in education. He was a retired McDowell and Tazewell County teacher and coach. Also, Donald proudly served his country in the U.S Navy from 1959 to 1963.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Frank S. Perfin, and one grandson, Michael L. Epperson; as well as five uncles (Lee Switch, Paul Switch, John Switch, Steve Switch, and Mike Switch) and four aunts (Stella Switch Lambert, Anne Perfin, Ethel Switch Dillion, Julia Switch Harring).

One son: Frank P. "Rick" Perfin of Pulaski, Virginia
Two daughters: Daria B. Neal and husband, Robert, of Pulaski, Virginia
Regina M. Perfin of Bluefield, West Virginia
One granddaughter: Sara E. Perfin of Bluefield, West Virginia
Two brothers: John S. Perfin of Gary, West Virginia
Harry "Buddy" Perfin and wife, Betty, of Cross Lanes, West Virginia
Two nieces: Elizabeth "Liz" Tuell and husband, Rob, of Charleston, West Virginia
Jessica Perfin of Charleston, West Virginia
One great-niece and one great-nephew: Kayleigh and Kaden Tuell of Charleston, West Virginia
Former wife of 49 years: Patricia "Carol" O'Brien of Pulaski, Virginia
And a special person of the family: Merv Carter
Pallbearers will be: John "Jackson" Baria, Dustin Boggess, Merv Carter, Jim Hunsuker, Frank "Rick" Perfin, Rob Tuell
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bluefield, West Virginia with Rev. Elipidio Gentea officiating the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Mausoleum in Bluewell, West Virginia with the U.S Navy Honor Guard and Mercer County Honor Guard performing military graveside rites.
Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8 PM.
