James Harrison Gentry

April 12, 1932 — June 28, 2013

James Harrison Gentry, age 81, of Gentry Street, Princeton, WV, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born on April 12, 1932 in Crumpler, he was a son of the late Roby S. and Daphna Dale Reed Gentry. He had lived in Princeton for most of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from the US Air Force and had served in both Korea and Vietnam. He then worked for 22 years at Southern Automotive in Bluewell. He was a NASCAR racing fan. He enjoyed classic cars and buying lottery tickets, but never struck it rich. Survivors include: Wife: Wilma May Hunsucker Gentry of the home Sons: Marty Darrell Gentry and wife Angela of Charlotte, NC James Hunsucker and fiancée Lisa Reed of Princeton Grandson: Adam Hunsucker and girlfriend Callie Rowe of Rural Retreat, VA Brothers: Freddie Gentry and wife Bessie of Crumpler Lonnie Gentry and wife Joyce of Crumpler Leniel Gentry of Northfork Sister in law: Justine Sparks and husband Billy of Kegley Several nieces and nephews Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Rev. Harold Taylor officiating. The US Air Force Honor Guard and the Mercer County Honor Guard will be preforming graveside services. Those wishing to attend services are asked to meet at the cemetery at service time. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America 628, 850 Mercer St, Princeton, WV 24740.
