HALLSVILLE- Lillian Elizabeth Blevins Turner went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 10, 2013. Lillian was born on October 30, 1922 in Crozer Hollow McDowell County, WV to Major and Georgia Blevins and is the second of eight children. Lillian married Lawrence Eugene Turner on July 15, 1949. They were blessed with two children, Michael Eugene Turner and Pamela Kim Jones. Lillian has resided in Hallsville since 1988.
Lillian is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Michael Eugene and Patsy Turner of Roanoke, VA; daughter and son-in-law Pamela Kim and Stanley Jones of Hallsville, TX; five grandchildren, Tiffany Durham, Michelle Turner, Cindy Turner, Michael Turner of Roanoke, VA and Ashley Chambers of Nashville, TN; seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Zach, Nate, Maddy, Andrew, MaKaila, and Eli; brother and sister-in-law Donald and Freda Thomas of Bluefield, WV; sister and brother-in-law Jean and Biff Willis of Bluefield, WV; sister and brother-in-law JoAnn and Kalien Carter Sr. of Cleveland, OH; sister-in-law Glenna Davis of Lynchburg, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lillian was a beautiful example of the Lord’s unconditional love and was confident in her creator and His promises. She was a strong, hard-working, giving, wise, and witty woman who will always be remembered as a remarkable mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She knew what mattered most in life and credited God and his grace for each day she had here.
Services will be conducted by Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, WV on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 1:00pm followed by burial at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lillian’s beloved Sunday School Class, The Friendship Class at First Baptist Church Hallsville- P.O. Box 359 Hallsville, TX 75650.
