Charlie Vincent Roark, Jr., age 56, of Brushfork, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013 of a long illness.
Born on August 26, 1956 in in McDowell County, he was a son of the late Charlie V. Roark, Sr. and Lois Faye Hamm Roark. He graduated from Gary High School and later joined the US Navy where he served 6 years on the USS Forrestal in the Vietnam War. He worked for Virginia Crews Coal Co in Iaeger as a security guard.

Richard Roark and wife Melissa of Gastonia, NC
Sister: Cathy Roark of Princeton
Companion of 24 years: Charlotte L. rose and her son, Jeffrey Rose and granddaughter Emilee Eva Rose of Bluefield.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. James Cline officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with military honors being performed by the US Navy Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.
