John Roger Roark, Sr., 60 of Jenkins Jones Mountain Road. Anawalt, WV passed away on Friday, June 07, 2013 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. John was born on October 04, 1952 in Welch, WV to the late Elmer and Dorothy Presley Roark. John had been a resident of Anawalt for the past 40 years and was a Graduate of Gary High School. He served his county with the US Army during the Vietnam War. John was a retired truck driver. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter Lisa Michelle Roark. Survivors Include: His wife: Reida Finley Roark of the home One Son: John Roark Jr. and wife Heather of Lexington, NC One daughter: Sarah Stanley and husband Gilbert of Bluefield, WV One Brother: Jack Roark of Bellville, MI One Sister: Peggy Rose of Ypsilanti, MI Three grandchildren: Larissa Roark, Cameron Roark and Reagan Roark Two step grandchildren: Cameron Stanley and Wesley Stanley Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield (Bluewell), WV with Rev. William Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV. Where friends and family will serve as pallbearers Graveside services will be held by the West Virginia Honor Guard and Mercer County Veterans Council.
