Robert Davis Hatfield

Robert Davis Hatfield, age 85, of Eureka Place, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born on September 28, 1927 in Williamson, he was a son Glenn Davis Hatfield and Gertrude Berryman Hatfield. He had been a resident of Bluewell for 10 years and was formerly of Welch. He was a member of the Fincastle First Church of God in Bluefield, VA. He was retired from US Steel and AEP. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of the UMWA and was a former member of the Welch Masonic Lodge #112. He was an avid fisherman and was a former coach of the Welch Little League. Survivors include: Wife of 65 years: Peggy Rolen Hatfield of the home 1 son: Mark Davis Hatfield and wife Rhonda of Morgantown, WV 3 daughters: Rebecca Dickterenko of the home Lida Howard of Jacksonville, FL Bobbi Hatfield and companion Brad Reese of Bluefield Grandchildren: Jodi Casto and husband Dave John Hatfield Jean Hogan and husband Mark Alexandra Hatfield Great grandchildren: Hunter and Cory Kelley Lily Hogan Ty and Haley Casto Special Friend: Millard Gibson of Maybeury, WV Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Michael Werle officiating. The WV Honor Guard and Mercer County Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Friends may call on Friday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
