Zelda Rae Cook

Zelda Rae Cook, 83, of Bramwell, WV, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at her residence from an extended illness. Born on February 13, 1930 in Bramwell, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Pearl Allen Goins of Bramwell. Zelda was a lifelong resident of Bramwell Hill, living there 83 years and was the longest living resident of Bramwell Hill. She was a homemaker who loved her family and God very much. She was a member of the MapleView Church of Christ. She will be profoundly missed by her children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Roy Cook, who died in 1994; two brothers, Howard Goins and Arthur Goins, Jr. of Bramwell; and two sisters, Dorothy Lucas of Newport News, VA and Janet Bryant of Bluewell. She is survived by her loving children, Sons, Doug Cook and wife Kathy of Bluewell David Cook, with whom she shared her home with Darrell Cook and wife Tammy of Princeton Daughter, Debbie Cook-Bailey and husband Richard of Princeton Brother: William Goins of Elkhart, IN Sister: Lillian Frith of Roanoke, VA Sisters in law: Nick Goins and Grace Cook of Bramwell Brother in law: Eugene Lavender of Bramwell 5 granddaughters: Cheryl Cline (Peter) of Princeton Amanda Cook of Bluewell Destinee Cook (Bill) of Tazewell, VA Katelyn Cook (Brandon) of Princeton Hannah Cook of Princeton 2 step grandsons: Kelly and Kevin Bailey of Lynchburg, VA 5 great grandchildren: Rachel, Wyatt, Brady, Arianna and Ayden 3 step great grandchildren: Shea, Hayden and Devin Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Rev. Marvin Mills officiating. Those wishing to attend should meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell on Saturday at 10:30 AM. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell. Wayne Frith, Joe Kowaleski, Dean Goins, Brandon Eagle, Allen Goins, and Doug Quesinberry will serve as pallbearers. Roger Goins and Dr. Krishnan will serve as honorary pallbearers.
