Joe C. Rotenberry 69 of Bluefield, West Virginia passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at his residence, after a long illness. Born on March 23, 1944 on Burke Mountain in McDowell County, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Basil Rotenberry and Virgie Cook Rotenberry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Rotenberry A graduate of Northfork High School, he was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War and was a past commander of the Princeton, West Virginia chapter of the Disabled American Veterans and a Officer of the Bluewell, West Virginia chapter of the V.F.W. as well as a retired member of the U.M.W.A., and a member of the Mount Herman Baptist Church of Nemours, West Virginia. He leaves behind his children, J.D. Rotenberry and wife Lynn of Beckley, West Virginia, Bryan Rotenberry and wife Kim of Bluefield, West Virginia, Jared Rotenberry and wife Irene of Princeton, West Virginia, Bethany Rotenberry of Richmond, Virginia and grandchildren Grant, Michael, Andrew, Steven and Alexis. Brothers Bobby Rotenberry of Brunswick, Ohio, Raymond Rotenberry of Keystone, West Virginia, Mac Rotenberry of Bluefield, West Virginia and sisters Ethel Formica of Keystone, West Virginia, Sylvia Oster of Ashland, West Virginia, Doris Pawlak of Del Ray Beach, Florida and Judy Lambert of Bluefield, West Virginia. He will also be missed by his beloved friend, Janet Bowlick of Bluefield, Virginia and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluefield, WV with Rev. Russ Lambert and Rev. Joe Lambert officiating the services. Burial will follow at Rotenberry Family Cemetery on Burke Mountain, West Virginia where Grant Rotenberry, Michael Rotenberry, Jeff Oster, Michael Zacharias, Tom Lambert and Ralph Rotenberry will serve as pallbearers.
