Christopher Scott Cottle 41, of Charleston WV, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, giving life to others as an organ donor. Chris (Scott), went to be with the Lord as a result of a motorcycle accident in Gainesville, GA. doing what he loved.
Born on Sept 1, 1971 in Norfolk, VA. He was the son of George and Sandra Witten Cottle of Princeton, WV. He loved riding his Harley and going to rock concerts. He will be dearly missed by many friends, family, and co-workers.
He was a 1989 graduate of Oakvale High School. Chris (Scott) served in the United States Navy from 1989-1992. Upon leaving the military, Chris (Scott) completed an Electrical apprenticeship with the IBEW receiving his electrical journeyman license. Chris (Scott) traveled and worked on many construction projects such as the Portsmouth Navel Hospital in Portsmouth VA and the General Motors Assembly Plant in Dayton OH. Chris (Scott) was hired by General Motors as a tradesman for the Moraine Assembly Plant in Moraine OH. Chris (Scott) continued his working career with AEP working in the Glen Lyn, Va plant and relocating to the John C. Amos plant in Charleston WV as an Equipment Operator in FGD.
Survivors in addition to his parents include: His loving wife, Sarra Hill Cottle of the home; daughter, Ericka Cottle of Pearisburg, VA; brother, G.W. (Michelle) Cottle of Princeton, WV; sisters, Kim(Joe) Gatzek and Becky Cottle and partner Debra Hall all of Richmond, VA ; special aunt Noel Terry of Hertford, NC; and nephew George Samuel Cottle of Princeton, WV. Beloved pets Daphne, Miley, and Cassie.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Princeton Church of God, 250 Oakvale Road, Princeton, WV with Minister Kalvin Kress officiating.
Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church.
Due to cremation, the family requests no flowers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his daughter’s college fund.
