Charles Ray Ratcliffe, Sr.

Charles Ray Ratcliffe, Sr., age 79, of Walters Avenue, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Mercer Nursing and Rehab in Bluefield. Born on June 24, 1933 in Maybeury, he was a son of the late Lyle and Ruby Crockett Ratcliffe. He had served in the US Air Force and was a retired truck driver and had formerly worked for Fairmont Supply, Ammars, and Bluefield Daily Telegraph. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donnie Ratcliffe. Survivors include: 1 son: Charles Ray Ratcliffe, Jr. Three daughters: Lesia (Truman) Hamacher of Flint, MI Melissa French of Bluefield Teresa (Daddy’s Little Girl) Castle and Rick (a second son) of Bluefield 4 grandchildren: Randy Price of Bluefield, VA Micah (Desi) Kiser of Bluefield Aaron Castle (his Punkin) of Bluefield Andrew (Miranda) Kiser of Wytheville, VA 7 great grandchildren Sister: Barbara (Walt) Poynter of Bluefield Brother: Doug (Linda) Ratcliffe of Bluefield, VA Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Pastor Darrell Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Bluefield with Micah Kiser, Randy Price, Andrew French, Aaron Castle, Howard Call, and Mike Thomas will serve as pallbearers. Mike Bowman will serve as honorary pallbearers. Friends may call on Tuesday from 12:00-1:00 at the funeral home.
