Billy Dempsey Mann, age 87, of The Havens, formerly of Bluewell, passed away early Thursday morning, April 25, 2013 at The Havens.
Born on June 12, 1925 in Russell County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Ida Thompson Mann and Robert Monroe Mann. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was retired from U.S. Steel #50 in Pineville. He was a UMWA member. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Quesenberry Mann; children, Artie and Beth Mann of Arkansas; grandson, Jeremiah James Baldwin; great-grandson, Tyler Houston Baldwin; son-in-law, Benjamin Farmer, Sr. and several siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Minister George Mandakunis officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where Military Graveside Honors will be performed by the US Navy Honor Guard. The family will be serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
