Vanessa Hall Carter, age 51, of Princeton, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley after a long and hard battle of diabetes and heart disease. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7 Born on March 16, 1962 in Welch, she was a daughter of Shirley Gillespie Hall of Big Sandy, WV, and the late George Hall. She had been a resident of Princeton for over 20 years and was a retired claims representative at the Bluefield office of the Social Security Administration. She was a loving mother, sister, wife, daughter, and aunt. She never met a stranger and enjoyed making everyone laugh. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, David Allen Carter; and in laws, Ronnie & Jerry Carter, Beatrice Homan, and Charlie and Mary Carter. Left to cherish her memory includes her: Husband: Larry Carter of the home Son: Jarred Seth Carter of the home Brother: Michael and Darlene Hall of Bluefield Sisters: Becky and John Young of Princeton Kelly Hall of Cincinnati, OH Brothers in law: Donald and Shan Carter of Montcalm Harold and Betty Carter of Beckley Charlie Homan of Fayetteville, NC Sisters in law: Dorothy and Rodger Cooper of Charleston Imogene and Sonny Brown of Charleston Faye and Jimmy Pederro of Elizabeth, NJ A host of many special friends and family Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Darryl Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
