Leckie (Anawalt), WV - Rita Arlene Sadler, 66, of Leckie (Anawalt), WV passed away at Riverview Nursing Home in Richcreek, VA on Tuesday April 2, 2013. Born with Cerebral Palsy in Leckie on March 21, 1947, Rita was never able to enjoy the activites most of us took for granted but she always had a smile on her face. It took very little to make her happy. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Elma Sadler, Grandparents Martha and George Sadler, Uncles: Talmage, Cecil and Adrian Sadler, Aunt Stella Sadler Bennington, 1st Cousins Lorain Sadler, Juanita Zeigafuse, Rex Sadler, David Sadler, Kenneth Sadler, Ester Irvin, Roy Bennington, Carl (Junior) Bennington, Lois Chrisco and Betty Blackburn and her special cat Tiger. She is survived by special cousins, caregiver Lilis Ashbrook and administrator Danny Sadler (Hondo) and 1st cousins Norma Payne, Selma Huff, Agnes Arletta Miller, Ellen Gaynor Bonham, Patricia Ann Davis, Buford Sadler ,Maxine Fodor, Janice Lopez, Jean Richardson, Sandra Watkins, Donald Bennington, Robert Bennington, Adrian Ryan (Randy) Sadler and Bridgette Walczak and the staff of Riverview Nursing Home and special friend Brenda. Rita was home schooled by school teacher cousin Mamie O’Brian Cooper and was able to read and write even though she couldn’t speak normally. She spent the last 27 1/2 years of her life under the very good and capable care of the staff at Riverview Nursing Home in Richcreek, VA. Funeral services will be Saturday April 6 at 1pm at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Donald Farmer Jr. officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Bluefield, VA with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Friends may call on Saturday from 11am to 1pm at the funeral home.
