Jesse Clarence Hawks, age 84, of Brushfork, went to be with his Lord and family on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born on December 7, 1928 in Ashland, WV, he was a son of the late Charlie Hawks, Sr. and Nannie White Hawks. He was a faithful member of the Brushfork First Church of God.
Jesse was a retired engineer for Norfolk-Southern Railroad. He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Engineers. In his spare time, Jesse enjoyed exercising at the Bluefield Wellness Center, loved the WVU Mountaineers and sports. He loved the Lord and his church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie J. Neal Hawks; sisters, Ethel Bosworth, Gertie Dye, Gladys Goforth, and brothers, Charlie hawks, Jr., Harold Hawks, Fred Hawks, and Robert Hawks.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastor Jimmie Russ officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where military honors will be performed by the WV Army Honor Guard and the Mercer County Veterans Council. His church friends will serve as pallbearers and Clyde S. barr will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
