Hershal Ivan Parker

Hershal Ivan Parker, age 89, of Warden Avenue (Bluewell), Bluefield, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born on August 31, 1923 in Montcalm, he was a son of the late Edgar and Gwen Lusk Parker. He had been a resident of Bluewell for most of his life and was a veteran of the US Army. He was a retired carpenter from US Steel with 42 years of service and was a member of the UMWA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Tyree Parker; and a brother, Keith Parker. Survivors include: 3 sons: Jerry Parker of Wyoming County Daran Parker of Charlotte, NC Tim Parker and wife Cyndi of Bluewell 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren 2 brothers: Norman Parker and wife Janet of Norfolk, VA Arnold Parker and wife Linda of Rock 2 sisters: Evelyn Kruetz of Golden, CO Ardith Smith of Bluewell Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Minister Jack Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The WV Army Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
