Viola Elizabeth Anthony

Viola Elizabeth Campbell Anthony, 84, of Bluefield, WV peacefully departed this life on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Bluefield, WV. She was born in Eckman, WV on October 25, 1928 to the late Andrew William Campbell, Sr. and Willie Mae Campbell. They moved to Bluefield, WV in 1943 and she attended Mercer County Public Schools graduating from Genoa Senior High School and attended Bluefield State College. Viola accepted Christ in her life at a very early age. She was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years. After many years of being a homemaker, teacher, nurse, doctor, and counselor she decided to enter into the workforce, working for the Mercer County School system as a cook and retired in 1994. She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Willie Mae Campbell; sister, Estelle Norwood; brother, Leonard Campbell; son, Andrew Harold Anthony; grandson, Anthony Jamal Morgan, granddaughter; Kimberly Elizabeth Anthony Chambers; niece, Margaret “Dumplin” Norwood; and nephews, Harold Lee Campbell, Jr. and Charles E. Campbell. Left to cherish precious memories and to continue her legacy is her devoted and loving husband of 62 years, Milton H. Anthony, Sr.; three daughters, Carolyn Anthony, Deborah Morgan, Karen (Ron) Mahone, all of Columbus, OH; four sons, William (Jackqueline) Anthony of Cary, NC, Milton (Barbara) Anthony, Jr., James (Pamela) Anthony, Lawrence (Pamela) Anthony, all of Columbus, OH. Nineteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; four brothers, Willie (Joan) Campbell of Chester, VA, Andrew Campbell of Richmond, VA, Harold Lee (Doris) Campbell of Martinsville, VA and James (Trina Johnson) Campbell of Taylor, MI; ; sister-in-laws, Thelma Hawthorne (Pretzel)and Juanita Scott, both of Richmond, VA, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and many of her children’s friends who affectionately referred to her as their “MOM” too. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013. 12:00 PM at Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church , 104 Park street, Bluefield, WV with the Rev. Charles H. Collins officiating. Family will receive friend and family one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, WV. Craven & Shires Funeral Home of Bluewell served the Anthony family
