Helen Salpini

HELEN (ELENA) C. SALPINI of Welch, West Virginia departed this life at age 92 on March 6, 2013 at a care facility in Fairfax, Virginia. She was born on August 27, 1920 in Accumoli, Province of Rieti, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Pietro and Marianina Salpini and emigrated to this country as an infant with her parents. She was a resident of Welch the greater part of her life and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the St. Teresa Society. She was a graduate of Welch High School and was employed as a bookkeeper at Clark Stores and later for the West Virginia Dept. of Human Resources. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Belardino (I) and her sister-in-law, Virginia Conner Salpini. Survivors include her two brothers, Americo (Rick) Salpini of Hudson, Florida and Belaridino (Benny) Salpini and wife, Louise, of Fairfax, Virginia; three nephews, Gary Salpini (Sharon), of Fairfax, Virginia; Dean Salpini (Joy) of Fairfax, Virginia; Kirk Salpini (Mary) of Annandale, Virginia; seven nieces, Susan, Emily, Kate, Colleen, Jessica, Kirsten, and Cara Salpini. Friends will be received at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell from 10 - 11 AM on March 30, 2013. A vigil prayer will be at 11 AM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel. Burial services will be conducted at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Bluewell in the family plot following the prayer services.
