Arthur Bilton Riffe

Bluefield, VA- Arthur (Bilton) Riffe, 74, of 119 Jefferson St., Bluefield, VA, passed away Saturday March 23, 2013 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born August 1, 1938 in Litwar, WV he was a son of the late Mervin E. and Eppie E. Cook Riffe. Arthur was a resident of Bluefield, VA and Falls Mills, VA most of his life. He was a graduate of Graham High School and was retired from National Coil. Mr. Riffe was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the V.F.W. #9696 Bluefield, VA and American Legion Post in Pocahontas, VA. In addition to his parents Mr. Riffe was preceded in death by, two wives; Scarlet Gladys Edwards Riffe and Elizabeth Ellen McGee Riffe, a son; William Ryan Riffe, and four brothers; Robert, Smith, Darrell, and Doug Riffe. Survivors Include: Daughters: Tammy Scarberry and husband Jim of Bluefield, VA Scarlet “Liz” Lester and husband Steve of Bluefield, VA Four Brothers: Lewis “Popeye” Riffe and wife Linda of Falls Mills, VA Denver Riffe and wife Cheryl of Falls Mills, VA Michael Riffe and wife Drema of Kernersville, NC Tom Riffe and wife Beverly of Bluefield, WV Two sisters: Mary Ellen Green and husband Gene of Pineville, WV Rita Smith of Falls Mills, VA Four grandchildren: Billy Sexton Sabrina Sexton Jazmin Scarberry Nacoal Scarberry Funeral services for Mr. Riffe will be conducted Tuesday March 26, 2013 at 11: 00 A.M. at the Craven-Shires funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Luke Lester, Ted Anders and Ken Sprinkle officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn memorial Park located in Bluewell where military graveside rites will be performed by the WV Honor Guard. Serving the family as pallbearers will be; Barbara Green, Deidre Irving, Phillip Riffe, Scotty Riffe, Wayne Riffe, Billy Sexton, Rodney Riffe, and Chuck Riffe.
