Harold Jackson Blevins, of Bluefield, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
Born in Goodwill, WV on August 30, 1929. He was the son of the late Oscar J. and Serilda Jane Taylor Blevins. Harold served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a route man for Betsy Ross bakeries that later became Flowers Bakery from where he retired in 1991. He was an avid bowler and golfer. Harold was a ranger at Pipestem State Park golf course for many years.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Charles S. Nichols Sr., son Bobby Bernard Blevins, granddaughter Sabrena Church, sisters Della Simpson and Brenda Goodwin, brothers-in-law Roger Chandler, Charles S Nichols Jr., and Jerry Nichols Sr.
Harold is survived by his wife of 32 years Doris M. Nichols Blevins, mother-in-law Ramona Nichols, sons Jackson Blevins (Karen), John Stocksen Jr., daughters Charlotte Hood (Reese), Shona Stocksen, and Amanda Blevins; grandsons Keenan Blevins and Jakob Stocksen; granddaughters Nikki Beasley and Tiffany Bell; sisters Carol Sue Simpson (Donald) and Freda Dean, sisters-in-law Janice Chandler, Jean LaRue (Bud), Faye Reeves (Ronnie), and Kaye Bowman (Mike), 4 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews that loved him very much.
The family will receive friends at Cravens-Shires funeral home Friday, February 15, 2013 between 11 AM and 1 PM, with services at 1PM with Pastor Gary Pennington officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV. Pallbearers will be Jackson Blevins, Mike Bowman, Roger W Chandler, David LaRue, Steven LaRue, Jerry Nichols Jr. and Shawn Papa.
