BLUEWELL, Gladys Clendenen, 90, affectionately known as “Ninny” by those who loved her best, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 27, 2013 surrounded by those who cared for her.
Born on December 3, 1922 in Boissevain, VA, she was the daughter of the late Ollie and Mattie Dillon Compton. She had lived in Bluewell since 2004 and attended Johnston Chapel Baptist Church where she enjoyed the DMA group and working with the MOPS program. She had many pastimes including growing roses, making homemade rolls and candy, but her favorite was spending time and caring for her great-grandchildren who lived next to her.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands Joseph Donchatz and Oscar Clendenen ; and her brothers and sisters. She was the last member of her family.

Special Caregivers: Sylvia Jones, Eva Brown, and Marie Moore
Private graveside services will be conducted at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA with Pastor Jim Simmons officiating. Burial will follow with Richard Evans, Michael Linkous, Andrew Donchatz, Andrew Linkous, David Linkous, and Sammy Miano will serve as pallbearers.
