Raymond Johnson Farmer

Raymond Johnson Farmer, age 88, of Route 3 Box 450 (116 Dahlia Street), Bluefield, WV, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Charleston Area Medical Center. Born on September 6, 1924 in Goodwill, he was a son of the late Thomas and Sarah Spencer Farmer. He had been a lifelong resident of Bluefield and was a member of the Jesus name Church. He was a retired coal miner and was a veteran of the US Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rex Farmer. Survivors include: Wife: Nina Griffith Farmer of the home 2 sons: Randy Farmer and wife Dinah of Rogersville, AL Blain Farmer and wife Carola of Elkhorn, KY 2 daughters: Sarah Riggs and husband Larry of Bluefield Fern Hartwell and husband Bane of New York 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren 2 brothers: Frank Farmer and wife Bessie of Camp Creek Larry Farmer and Sue 5 sisters: Helen Moody, Eva Mae Farmer, Myrtle “Dot” Carver, Mildred Murphy, Juanita Howard and Sandy Mash Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Pastor Doug Steel officiating. Burial will follow with friends and family serving as pallbearers. Cody Farmer will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
