John Andrew Kaczynski

John Andrew Kaczynski, age 61, of 60 Summers Street, Welch, WV, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012 in Charlotte, NC due to complications from lung cancer. Born on July 23, 1951 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the only child of John and Ann Kaczynski of Pittsburgh, PA. He had been a resident of Welch for 38 years. He was a retired school teacher with McDowell County Board of Education. John taught and coached in several McDowell County schools through the years, including: Bartley Elementary and Junior High School, War Junior High School, Big Creek High School and Fall River Elementary School. He received his undergraduate degree from California University of Pennsylvania and his Master's in Education from Marshall University. Two years ago his wife,Linda, preceded him in death after over thirty years of marriage. Survivors include daughters, Michelle Kaczynski Carlson and husband Eric of Charlotte, NC and Amy Kaczynski of Charleston, WV. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 1:00pm at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Father Paul officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Friends may call on Saturday from 12:00pm-1:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
