Harold Boyd Wolfe, Sr., age 88, of PO Box 797 (Premier Mtn.), Welch, WV, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Welch Community Hospital.
Born on June 30, 1924 in McComas, he was a son of the late Lonnie Hobart and Lottie Bryant Wolfe. He had been a resident of Welch since 1945 and was a graduate of McComas High School. He was the former owner of Wolfe Trucking Company and the Beauty Rest Motel. He was also a former private investigator and retired chief field deputy. He had also owned the Lincoln Mercury dealer in Welch.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Belcher Wolfe; a son, Roger “Chip” Wolfe; and a grandson, Brandon Wolfe.
Survivors include:
3 sons: John Wolfe and wife Karen of Bluefield
Lonnie Wolfe and Kimberly of Princeton
Harold B. “Butch” Wolfe, Jr. of Athens
1 daughter: Dolly Comer and husband Chuck of Bluefield, VA
13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild
Special friend and companion: Loraine Antonacci of Welch
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Doug Abel officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
