Maxine Oris Spicer

PETERSTOWN, WV---Maxine Oris Spicer, age 75, of PO Box 729 Peterstown, WV formerly of McComas WV went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at her home. Born February 4, 1937 in McComas, WV she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Mammie Spicer. In addition to taking care of her parents, Maxine loved going to church and doing volunteer work at Bluefield Hospital and wherever she was needed. She had also worked Kresge Store. She will be sadly missed by all of those that knew her and loved her dearly. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lena Clark and Ruby Dudley both of Bluewell; five brothers, Robert Spicer of Massachusetts, Crockett Spicer of Delaware, Tracy Spicer of McComas, Randy and Junior Gills of Bluewell. Those left to cherish her memories are: One son, Michael Poore and wife Julie of TN Two beloved sisters, Nancy Pennington of Peterstown, WV (with whom she lived with) Mildred Pennington and husband Bennie of Rich Creek, VA Two Granddaughters, Christina and Jessie of TN Two Great-grandchildren, Ethan and Chloe of TN Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2012 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell, WV with Rev. Randy Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, WV. Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers. Friends may call Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
