Paul Dannie Combs

Paul Dannie Combs, age 55, of Route 1 (Sandlick), Bluefield, WV, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born on March 5, 1957, he was a son of the late Charles Edward “Cowboy” and Juanita Ball Combs. He had been a lifelong resident of Sandlick and was a retired coal miner. He loved the coalmines and worked at Itmann Coal Corp, Quality Coal Corp. He also loved running heavy equipment and helping his friends and neighbors. He enjoyed gardening and playing with his trusted dog, “Roscoe”. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl, Billy, Jody & Charles Combs; and his sisters, Flora Mae Redman, Rebecca Sadler, Mattie Burchett, Mary Booher, and Jody Combs. Survivors include: 1 son: Danny Combs and wife Cindy of Princeton 1 daughter: Kimberly Joy Hyatts of SC 2 brothers: Elbert “Cowboy” Combs of Sandlick Ernest Combs of Sandlick 5 sisters: Nora Trivett and Smith of Pipestem True Kay Berry and Bob of Grand Junction, CO Carol Wagner of Green Valley, WV Joy Hubbard and Rusty of Glenwood Lena Akey and Al of Grand Junction, CO Partner in life for 17 years: Sheilah Long of Sandlick A host of special nieces and nephews Special nephew: Gene Combs and wife Lori of Princeton Extended family: Mike & Suzi Sutton; Terry and Linda Simpson Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Rev. Larry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at the Combs Family Cemetery in Sandlick with friends of the family serving as pallbearers.
