Lillian (Thelma) Proffitt Shrader, age 84 of 1201Packing Plant Road (Bluewell), Bluefield, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Maples Nursing Home in Bluewell. Born on Mach 2, 1928 in Bluewell, she was a daughter of the late William Shrader and Maudie (Hambrick) Shrader. She had been a resident of Bluewell for 84 years and was a member of the Sandlick Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and had formerly worked for Woodlawn Greenhouse for over 5 years. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Melvin Proffitt and John Byrd Shrader, 4 brothers and 2 sisters; and a stepson: Jerry Allen Shrader of Virginia Survivors include: Sons: Douglas Melvin Proffitt and Wife Kathie from Lorimor IA Troy Wayne Proffitt and Wife Nettie of Bluewell WV Jerry Richard Proffitt and Wife Gennie of Ridgeway Va Bobby Michael Proffitt and Wife Diane ofBluewellWV Daughters: Brenda Sue Peebles and Husband Johnny from Pipestem WV Linda Joyce Saddler and Husband Steve of Pipestem WV Sally Mae Dempsey and Arlis of Bluewell WV Connie Marlene Proffitt of Bluewell WV Living Stepsons: Sherman John Shrader and Wife Tarnmi of Virginia Samuel Harry Shrader and Wife Sally of Virginia Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Ronald Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at the Shrader Family Cemetery in Bluewell where family will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call on Thursday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home, with viewing from 12:30-1:00pm.
