MONTCALM, WV---Joseph Jackson Honaker, Sr. age 78 of 598 Freedom Road Montcalm, WV passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born May 28, 1934 at Montcalm he was the son of the late Lacy Lee and Pearl Martin Honaker. Mr. Honaker was a lifelong resident of Montcalm and had worked at United Piece and Dye Works in Bluefield, VA and as a Master carpenter, building over 200 homes. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was also U.S. Army Veteran. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five sisters, Sybil Miller, Sally Taylor, Shelby McMillan, Mae Mitchell, and Pauline Honaker. Survivors include, His wife of 52 years Patricia “Pat” Henley Honaker of Montcalm, WV Two sons, Joseph Jackson Honaker, Jr. of Montcalm, WV J.W. Adkins of Minnesota Three daughters, Beverly Odle and husband Danny of Montcalm, WV Johanna Scott and husband Fred of Bluefield, WV Sybol Lane and husband Steven of Bastian, VA Three brothers, Gerald Honaker and wife Betsy of Brushfork, WV William Honaker of Montcalm, WV Ryland Honaker and wife Dolly of Chicago, IL Three sisters, Gloria Glass of Montcalm, WV Judy Peck and husband Steve of Rock, WV Leona Hofer of Bruce, Wisconsin Three grandchildren Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Cravens-Shires Funeral home Chapel with Rev. Earl Arthur and Rev. David Ratcliff officiating. Friends may call Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until time of services at 7:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2012 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, WV. Those wishing to attend the graveside services are asked to meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home by 10:30 a.m. Daniel Odle, Rocky Lane, fred Scott, and Jacob Odle will serve as Pallbearers.
